For their April 2015 cover story, the team at Vogue Japan brings a fresh vision of the best of the Spring 2015 collections. The Vogue Japans look of this season is youthful rebellion... leather, contrasting black and white, thigh high stockings, subtle stripes, caps, button detailing, loose silhouettes, cut out shoes and hints of metallic detailing.

I love to wear stockings out, under dresses skirts or shorts. They are much comfier than tights which are not ideal to wear when going out for food! The history of hoisery goes right back to ancient times. The worlds first ever knitting machine was invented by William Lee, specifically for making stockings.

William Lee’s early knitting machine used what is known as a stocking stitch and has developed into many different machine used to mass-produce clothing.

It is strange to think that stockings had begun as male dominated clothing item. But now stockings as a garment are so connected with modern societies idea of femininity that it is hard to disassociate the two.

This one of my favourite images from the shoot. I love leather clothing and am obsessed with leather skirts, its hard to find one of a really nice quality without it looking cheap and plasticky (probably not in the dictionary). The shape of the skirt is just stunning... both sides perfectly symmetrical. The flower detailing as been added onto the garment at the end. machine stitched  with certain parts of the flower petals left resting on the surface of the skirt. Giving it a three dimensional effect. The way the light catches the surface of the leather leaving a slight sheen, making the flowers stand out more. I really like how the photograph has been edited, with a very soft glow placed around the model.
